Jakub comes from the glass making center, the Železný Brod region, where he follows up his father´s, glass artist Zdeněk Petr´s work. He learned the basics in Glass School in Železný Brod and graduated in Glass studio at the UMPRUM in Prague, where he studied with professor Vladimir Kopecký and later with Rony Plesl. His objects are set up mostly on inovátory technological processes. His elegant glass objects are shaped only with kinetic movements and centrifugal force. In his artworks, movement and interaction play an integral role.
