In 2000, Loes visited Murano, where she watched glassmakers while working with hot glass. She was impressed so much, she started looking for glass courses on internet. Loes attended her first workshop with Bibi Smit in Amsterdam and since then she was definitely “bitten by the glassblowing bug”. She started regularly visits glass classes, lead by major glass artists all around the world. Several times, she visited Glass Furnace in Turkey, Pilchuck Glass School in USA or Glassworks František in Čzech Republic. Over the years, her work has developed from simple tableware to more abstract objects. In Pilchuck, Loes found her way in blowing glass into natural unprocessed forms, which are then an integral part of her objects.
